PREVENTION

STRENGTHEN CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

It takes a village.

The strength of our communities and its families rests on the shoulders of individuals and organizations. No one is exempt from this important work.

Prevention comes in many forms. It's the baseball coach who inspires a child to take another at bat. It's the neighbor who sees a parent struggle and steps in to offer a break. It's organizations like the Child Abuse Council reaching out to the community with education and support.

Together and through our program  we can help build the protective factors that keep children safe: 1. concrete supports, 2. nurturing and attachment, 3. parental resilience, 4. social connections, 5. parenting knowledge of child development.

Learn more about our community programs, visit our resources page for great websites,  volunteer with our organization or simply reach out to a neighbor with knowing smile or a bit of encouragement.
