Support Services:
A
volunteer based program matching
trained volunteers with parents
of newborns. Volunteers are
matched with new parents in Rock
Island County who have given
birth to their first child.
Volunteers make bi-weekly phone
calls to the parents to provide
emotional support and
information on child
development.
Healthy
Families Illinois:
Healthy
Families is a voluntary home
visiting program that assists
families both parentally and
after the birth of the
child. A Family Support
Worker develops a relationship
with new parents, promotes
positive parenting skills, links
families to health care
providers and other resources in
the community. The Family
Support Worker works with
families as long as needed or up
until the child reaches the age
of five.
