Technology is an incredibly powerful tool. Without guidance, guidelines and appropriate supervision it can also be very dangerous.  Make sure you set clear expectations and rules for computers, tablets, phones and other devices in your home.  Also, never forget that everything ever posted anywhere online will always be Public and Permanent.  Check out these sites for more information!

 

NetSmartz is a wonderful site full of great resources for parents, educators and children. From blogging, gaming, file sharing to sexting, texting and cell phones they have a lot of great information to keep children safe!

 

FBI's Parent Guide to Technology 

 

PBS Webonauts is an online interactive game where children learn to make safe online choices. 

 

The Parents' Checklist includes a list of slang terms, abbreviations and acronyms used online. 

Safeguarde is a text glossary of common texting acronyms.
