In the United States, 872,000 children were confirmed victims of abuse or neglect.
11.9 out of every 1,000 children were victims of confirmed abuse.

64.5% neglect, including medical neglect
17.5% physical abuse
9.7% sexual abuse
7.0% emotional abuse
1.3% other form of abuse
An estimated 1,490 children died due to child abuse/neglect.
