Position Title:  CASA Program Coordinator

 

Job Status:   Regular, non-exempt (salaried)

 

FTE: 1.0 FTE

 

Job Summary: The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program Coordinator implements and oversees the Rock Island County CASA program.  The Program Coordinator coaches and supports all CASA Volunteers and all direct service of the program.  Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required to meet the overall mission and goals of the Child Abuse Council.

 

Work Site:  Primary – Child Abuse Council – 524 15th St., Moline, IL. and alternate sites in Rock Island County as warranted.

 

Supervisor:  Community Education Program Manager

 

 

Specific Duties:
  • Leads the recruitment of CASA volunteers.

  • Coordinates all interviewing and screening of CASA Volunteers.

  • Leads the training of all CASA volunteers and manages all training documentation.

  • Supervises all CASA volunteers and manages all requests of the CASA program.

  • Acts as liaison to court personnel, IL. Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and other strategic partners.

  • Identify, secure and maintain funding, including in-kind contributions, with grant making entities, corporations and community organizations.  This includes cultivating and maintaining solid, positive and fruitful relationships with said funding.

  • Serve as the Rock Island CASA representative in to the community.  This will include attending and participating in various community events or organizations.

  • Develop and implement short and long term planning in collaboration with the Child Abuse Council Leadership Team.

  • Be passionate and have concern for children’s safety, well-being and permanency as well as other matter relating to child welfare.

 

General Duties:
  • Maintain personnel records (i.e. Time Sheet and Mileage expense reports).

  • Attend all CAC staff meetings.

  • Assist in general CAC planning, public activities, and fundraising as appropriate.

  • Participate in external and internal committees as appropriate.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Law Enforcement or related field required.

  • Experience in the administration of a volunteer, non-profit or public service agency, 3 years minimum preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of child abuse/neglect, families in crisis and other social service skills, are given priority consideration.

  • Working knowledge of community resources and ability to work on a multidisciplinary team.

  • Advocacy, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Professional boundaries a must.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient use with computer programs (Word, Excel, Power Point).

  • Bilingual a plus.

 

Salary: $32,000-35,000
