Job Summary: The Community Education Program Manager is responsible for the development, planning and delivery of
community education and primary prevention services for the Child Abuse Council and for staff and volunteer management associated with those services. Program managers are expected to participate in
fund development for programs including grant writing and the administration of contracts and granted funds. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required to meet the mission and goals of the Child
Abuse Council.

 

Work Site: Child Abuse Council Main Office with some travel required throughout IA and IL
Supervisor: Director of Programs


Specific Duties:

• Manage all components involved in the delivery of community education services
• Supervise the AOK Program Coordinator and oversee all aspects of the Rock Island County AOK Network
Program
• Supervise the CASA Coordinator and oversee all aspects of the Rock Island County CASA Program
• Supervise the Prevention Education specialist, and oversee all aspects of Prevention Education programs
and caregiver classes
• Supervise the Trauma Informed Care Coordinator and oversee all aspects of the Trauma Informed Care
Program
• Provide leadership and support for program resource development
• Assist with the development of program plans and budgets, monitor program budgets, approve all
budgeted purchases/expenses and assist with budget reallocations
• Collect, maintain and report program statistics and outcomes measurements for monthly and quarterly
• reports to funders and internal Child Abuse Council Quality Assurance Committee
• Serve as point of contact for community education activities
• Coordinate training and supervision of program staff, interns, volunteers and subcontractors as
appropriate
• Conduct or support parent and community education groups as appropriate
• Coordinate and chair Child Abuse Prevention Advisory Council and serve as a coordinator between the
Child Abuse Prevention Advisory Council and the Community Partnerships for Protecting Children
• Coordinate and support community marketing displays

General Duties:

• Execute board approved personnel policies
• Maintain personnel records, including time sheets, mileage and personal expenses
• Attend all CAC staff meetings
• Participate in internal and external committees as appropriate
• Assist in general CAC planning, public activities and fundraising, as appropriate
• Assist in developing and coordinating advocacy efforts
• Assist in social media efforts with direction from Director of Development and Communications
• Support in efforts to move community to trauma informed practices and support internal efforts to ensure all programs, services and policies reflect trauma informed practice

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in human services, education or behavioral science and 5 years related experience; Master's degree desirable, but not required
• Demonstrated skills in designing and conducting trainings for adults and children
• General skills in program planning, implementation and evaluation
• Ability to embrace organizational goals and work in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to adhere to professional boundaries and confidentiality requirements
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience supervising staff a plus, but not a requirement
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Bilingual a plus, but not required
• Empathetic and sensitive professional; able to work with diverse populations
• Knowledge of child development and parenting
• Demonstrated knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experience Study and Trauma Informed Care
• Strong public speaking skills
• Motivated self-starter
• Ability to work some nights and weekends
