About Us
The Child Abuse Council (CAC) is a United Way partner agency dedicated to preventing child abuse and promoting healthy family relationships. Everyday we work to help families, professionals, and the community through our prevention and treatment programs, youth services, training and public awareness activities. Most of our programs serve Scott and Rock Island Counties.
The Child Abuse Council was organized in 1977 through the efforts of citizens and professionals concerned about child abuse and neglect in the Quad Cities. Its philosophy has always been one of community effort and cooperation. We have a local commitment to Prevent Child Abuse Illinois and Prevent Child Abuse Iowa and have many programs and services that help children and their families.
Mission
The Child Abuse Council leads community efforts to eliminate child abuse and neglect by strengthening children and families through treatment, education and prevention.
