24/7 Dad is a parenting development and support program for all fathers. It consists of 12 two-hour weekly sessions that focus on men’s attitudes toward fathering and helping men evaluate their parenting skills. Each weekly session is taught by local volunteer fathers and targets a specific topic that includes facilitated instruction, small group activities and group discussion with some “homework.”

The goal of the program is to improve the well-being of children by increasing the proportion of children with involved, responsible and committed fathers in their lives.

Five areas emphasized through the curriculum are:

  • Self-awareness/Caring for Self

  • Fathering Skills

  • Parenting Skills

  • Relationship Skills

  • Fatherhood Initiative

Groups are aligned as follows:

Session #1 - Family History

Session #2 - What it Means to be a Man

Session #3 - Showing and Handling Feelings

Session #4 - Men’s Health

Session #5 - Communication
