Survey Comments
The following
are comments from satisfaction surveys. Not all participants had comments
but here are a few of the comments that were made about the Healthy Families
Support Workers. We are pleased and proud that none of the participants had
negative comments.

Human Services reports 92% of parents participating in the program are in compliance with required immunizations for their children
86% of children have received
recommended Well Child Checks.

Rock Island Program SUCCESS
Good Day to you all---
I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to take a minute and give my thanks as well as my history on the Healthy Families program. First, I will say that this is an excellent program that has provided me with the care and support of a family program. I only wish that I had the resources when I had my other children. I was brought into the program when I was 6 months pregnant with my 5th child (the rules were different then) I had just moved here from Chicago (my husband stayed behind to work) and he was living in
public housing. One of the first things that were discussed with my worker
were a list of life goals. These goals were a positive move to some life
changes. So as a mom of 5 - on her own (for now) and on public assistance - I thought - ok. I can do this - and now after 5 plus years, I am told I have "graduated" the program - I feel proud, confident and happy. I could not have completed any of my goals without the support and care of my support workers
... But let me tell you, not one of these women ever made me feel like it was a "program." Like me or my family were a "case." Each one treated me and mine with the utmost respect, kindness, support and care.
.... They were never intrusive or clinical. I felt like a friend, a caring friend was stopping in to visit. I liked being asked how was I! How was my child? I liked watching her come in, take off her shoes and playing on the floor with my child. I liked that my child was comfortable enough to be on a first name basis.
... I thank you - my child thanks you - My family thanks you. - Without whose support I could never have achieved what I feel
are all life changing goals! Thanks a million... I have in steps:
Gone back and finished high school as an example to my children and a goal for myself
I have gotten off any and all public assistance/public housing
I have had job training to keep my present job for 4 years.
I have married the father of my children whom I have been with for 18 years! We just celebrated 2 years of marriage!
We have purchased our own home in the past 2 months.
I have a recent health spell that was a tough year but I am now healthy and happy.
And I am - I will (promise Shauda) work on my last goal to receive my driver's license. I will, I will, I will.
All these goals could not - would not be achieved with the help, the support, the resources, and the care of my family workers. My
family, but especially the programs --- again I thank you. I thank you all very
much.
